John D. Rockefeller appears for the first time in the rôle of author in a series of articles on "Some Random Reminiscences of Men and Events," the first appearing on Friday, September 25, 1908, in the October edition of The World's Work. The articles are accompanied by reproductions of the cramped but careful handwriting of Mr. Rockefeller, setting forth his biography made up of incidents of his work and pleasure.
The author says at the outset that on a rainy morning when golf is wanting, "I am tempted to become a garrulous old man, and tell some stories of men and things which have happened in an active life." He refers to the extent to which he has been associated with interesting people, especially in the business world.
