I have lost jobs, moved to new areas without a job waiting, had emergency expenses that took away my small reserve bank account, and had other financial problems. Friends have had the same thing happen. These days, it’s the norm!
It isn’t unusual these days to have too much month left at the end of your money. That’s why those high-cost “payday” loan companies have started up; but they only make a bad situation worse. (Stay away from them if you can!)
This cheap but valuable little Kindle ebook describes 37 small (and big!) businesses that you can start to make extra money. Most of them can be started up fast. Many of them can become full-time occupations; I’ve seen it happen, and it has happened to me.
I was working in a little camera shop in Morro Bay, California. The owner suddenly sold the shop. I was ousted, had no income, and had just gotten married. My bride was working part time at a college in the area, but we couldn’t pay the bills. So, I dug out two cameras and flash attachments I had used as a travel writer, and I started photographing weddings. It started very slowly. I made mistakes. I put together a tiny booklet of services provided by people in our circle of friends and we all referred each other. In a year, I was able to take over the load of the monthy bills, just in time for the birth of our son. I did weddings, and small-scale commercial photography and portraiture in my converted garage studio. Since then, I’ve always preferred to “work for myself,” just as you will too after you get a taste of it.
What I did can still be done! You can start up a business, learn about it quickly (especially these days, when the internet can teach almost anything), and be earning money in a short time; it’s not guaranteed, but with a positive attitude and smart, diligent effort, it can happen!
We hear a lot about government regulation and taxes; but believe me, if you are an individual, without employees, starting a new little business, the regulations are relatively minor! See for yourself: Just visit your local SCORE volunteers (check out SCORE.org), and you’ll get all the free help you need to get started quickly, legally, and within the regs.
Opportunity still abounds in the USA! You can take advantage of it, and this $2.99 book is a great place to start! If you don’t have a Kindle Reader, go to http://tinyurl.com/pc-mac-app to get a free Kindle App for Mac or PC. (It works just as well as the “real” Kindle version!)
