"WORDS THAT SOUND LIKE FREEDOM is the second
installment of original poems written with the sole purpose of
examining that kindred spirit, and fi nding a harmonious place
within the universe. There is nothing new under the sun, and as
much as anything else, this book is a confi rmation of this fact.
It addresses a people’s pain, hardship, rebellion, love, fears,
spirituality, determination, living and dying, albeit symbolic,
while issuing the challenge to remain focused on the critical.
This is to say that it reinforces the fact that no one has truly
arrived until their people get there, regardless of the road each
travels. It is a mandate for remembering and a scolding for
forgetting. Yet it embraces living with the understanding that
life is its own chastisement. Since that elusive “freedom” is
revolutionary and it seems only rebels are truly free, one must
set himself free, so free that no one would dare attempt
to enslave him again. This book is the embodiment of
freedoms, personified.
