The vast majority of parents I have met as a special education consultant have no clue whatsoever what to ask their child’s teacher about special and diverse needs. Although I assume that all teachers want what is in the best interest of their students, it is good for teachers to be asked questions that require some more and deeper thinking. These questions asked are not to challenge or question any teacher or practice, but should only be asked to strengthen an emerging or existing partnership between home and school.
