There are two Pioneer troops in the town of Lemont: Troop #111, the boys from the local public school, and Troop #49, the boys from the local private school. Both troops desperately want to win a trip to Camp Peeka Wau, a Pioneer sleep-away camp in New Mexico, but only the troop that sells the most chocolate will have their chance to go. Alan Riley and his friends in Troop #111 decide that nothing -- nothing -- will prevent them from selling more chocolate than the wealthy boys in Troop #49. In this middle-grade comedy about friendship, diversity, crazy dance moves, rock & roll, a grumpy beagle, and a fundraiser that nearly tears a town apart, Alan discovers that some things are more important than winning.Parental warning: mild languageRecommended reading level: 4th - 7th grade
