One beautiful Friday night last September, my husband and I were sitting on our back deck admiring the starry sky when we heard a “mewing” sound. Since we have several indoor cats, we were afraid that one of them might have gotten out. Needless to say, this was not the case.
I went down the steps and was following the sound to a spot underneath the air conditioning unit when I caught a furry blur heading under the deck. I bent down and looked, finally spying an adorable calico kitten (alas, not one of ours). After a little coaxing, she came into my outstretched arms and the rest, as they say, is history. My husband and I instantly became the proud parents of Rocky, the Wonder Cat!
