An outlaw motorcycle gang hellbent on taking Pontiac's turf gets messed up with a vigilante group who are trying to save the drug addict from Pontiac's sadistic clutches. But an Asian street gang made up of teenage boys, currently employed as Pontiac's foot soldiers, have dreams of taking the Sugartown underworld for themselves.

If the Coen brothers forced Scorsese, Tarantino and Guy Ritchie to write a novel -- with nothing but a typewriter, a case of whiskey and a bag of coke for inspiration -- Blood Rising may well be the outcome.

Both tragic and hilarious, it is a criminally horrific comedy set in Australia's most violent city. It is not for the squeamish.
