Everyone knows that Santa is this awesome elf guy who lives in the north pole and gives gifts to all the children of the world on Christmas night. This is a very sugar coated misconception. Saint Nick, also known as Belsnickel, is one of a pair of faerie brothers who work together. While Belsnikel is the good twin, some would say, who delivers toys and candy to good children, his brother, Krumpus, is the 'evil' twin who kidnaps children who have been naughty and takes them away. What people don't know is that while we all imagine little elves lovingly crafting dollies and choo-choo trains, it is actually the children that Krumpus has kidnapped to help his brother. They're kept in the workshop until they grow up, which can take quite some time when living with the fae. When the children grow up they're taken from the workshop and left somewhere in the streets during Santa and Krumpus' busy Christmas night.
