What makes the Passport to Passion Romantic Suspense series special?A. When I set out to write a mystery series about Ellen and her Aunt Vovie, I wanted characters my readers of contemporary romance and romantic suspense could relate to. People who lived real lives and had the same hopes and dreams we all do. But I also wanted to give them a slice of life they may not enjoy. I’ve traveled to all the places Vovie has, and I’m happy to recreate those exotic locales and a bygone era for my readers. But I also love a good mystery and with lots of contemporary adult romance. Ellen is a lawyer so readers get a good legal thriller and a travel mystery. Q. Where did you get the idea for the series?A. I’m a very visual writer. I had an image of Ellen reading the first page of Vovie’s journal entry and her shocked response. It didn’t take me long to figure out the purpose of the journal, and that although the two women were separated by generations, their lives had much in common. Ellen came into view as a very buttoned-up but successful lawyer who had a few things to learn from her adventurous aunt. The story took off from there. I laughed myself silly at the opening, as did my writing group. But then I realized the story was going to take a darker, more serious turn and become a mystery, making me love writing it even more. Q. What’s dark in the story?A. Well, I’m not going to give you any spoilers, but if you like stalker romance, legal thrillers and romantic suspense, you’ll be happy with this series. Just sayin’.The books are set up to be read from book 1 through to book 5. Some readers don’t like cliffhangers so I’ve made the box set available so you can pour yourself a glass of wine, curl up in your favorite spot and binge read to your heart’s content. Each book is not overly long but they are not shorts. Together they equal a full-length novel. There is a new element of the mystery and romance in each volume so it is necessary to read to the end. All the plot threads are revealed by the end of the series.
